Lithium-Ion Batteries Storage Building
The rapid rise of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS’s) that use Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery technology brings with it massive potential – but also a significant range of risks. Lithium-ion batteries or rechargeable batteries may seem harmless, but they harbour safety risks that are often underestimated. With their very high energy density, they can, under certain conditions, ignite spontaneously or become unstable and explode when heated. If a technical defect occurs or the battery fails, this can have serious consequences for people, the company and the environment. To date, there are no legal guidelines for the storage and supply of lithium-ion batteries. It is therefore up to each company to decide which safety measures to take but, as lithium is a hazardous substance, a Risk Assessment should be conducted to support this. Where appropriate, an assessment in compliance with the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) should be undertaken to ensure that charging areas are sufficiently remote from any hazardous materials such as flammable liquids and gases that may be stored or in use on the premises.
For the safe storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries in a fire-protected environment, we recommend the use of SECURALL safety storage buildings.
These building models have been specifically developed for the storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries and offer certified fire protection with a fire resistance of 2 to 4 hrs from the inside out and from the outside in. Securall battery storage buildings constructed of all-welded 16 or 12 gauge steel. Inner wall is constructed of 20 gauge steel. The double wall construction contains 3" of air space throughout. All Lithium-Ion Batteries Storage Buildings are designed in accordance with the standards set forth by NFPA Code 30 and comply with OSHA and EPA regulations. . They also help separate the batteries from incompatible and combustible materials.
This prevents a fire from the outside affecting the batteries inside the cabinet and a fire inside the cabinet caused by the stored lithium-ion batteries or rechargeable batteries, from spreading to the surrounding area. This safety concept gives your employees and the rescue services valuable time to evacuate the building and bring the fire under control.
Household/Commercial solid waste Storage Facility - Exterior solid waste storage enclosures are required for all new commercial solid waste service locations except those sites with alley collection, compactors, or an approved internal room for solid waste storage. Solid Waste storage enclosures may not be used for storage of any other materials except solid waste and all waste must be stored within the provided container. The storage, processing, and disposal of hazardous waste at municipal solid waste facilities pose a risk to public health and the environment, and in order to protect the environment and to provide measures for adequate protection of public health, it is in the public interest to require hazardous waste to be stored, processed, and disposed of only at permitted hazardous industrial solid waste facilities.
"Class I industrial solid waste" means an industrial solid waste or mixture of industrial solid waste, including hazardous industrial waste, that because of its concentration or physical or chemical characteristics is toxic, corrosive, flammable, a strong sensitizer or irritant, or a generator of sudden pressure by decomposition, heat, or other means and poses or may pose a substantial present or potential danger to human health or the environment if improperly processed, stored, transported, or otherwise managed.
"Class I nonhazardous industrial solid waste" means any Class I industrial solid waste that has not been identified or listed as a hazardous waste by the administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency under the federal Solid Waste Disposal Act, as amended by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976.
"Commercial hazardous waste management facility" means any hazardous waste management facility that accepts hazardous waste or PCBs for a charge, except a captured facility or a facility that accepts waste only from other facilities owned or effectively controlled by the same person, where "captured facility" means a manufacturing or production facility that generates an industrial solid waste or hazardous waste that is routinely stored, processed, or disposed of on a shared basis in an integrated waste management unit owned, operated by, and located within a contiguous manufacturing complex.
"Hazardous waste" means solid waste identified or listed as a hazardous waste by the administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency under the federal Solid Waste Disposal Act, as amended by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, as amended (42 U.S.C. Section 6901 et seq.).

411-82 - Contaminated Fuel Storage - A fuel storage facility requires temporary storage locker/building for off-specification (contaminated) fuel.
411-84 - Bulk (Depot) Heating Fuel Storage - Heating fuel oil storage may include storage tanks for kerosene and several different grades of diesel oil.
Drum Heating Locker/Building - Buildings can be equipped with (6,143 BTU to 34,100 BTU) explosion proof heater. And then it can be used for melting, viscosity reduction, elevated temperature storage, and general process heating applications. Buildings can be installed indoors or out. These units feature integrated spill containment.
HazSmart Detection System - Securall builidings can be equipped with device called HazSmart Monitoring System that can be tied with our various safety alarms. This device would detect when the Liquid Level Detector activated or the desired temperature inside the hazmat building drops or get higher than its desired level. In such conditions the HazSmart Monitoring Control system would send a signal to a smart devices it is programmed to do so.
Securall Buildings have been tested to determine the amount of force they can withstand and were shown to withstand F-4 tornado force winds of 250 mph. The chart below demonstrates the wind speed that a particular length of wall will resist.
Upgrade package is available for Tornado Resistant Walls.
Exterior Wall Construction

Safety Floor Planking
Slip resistant planking 13" wide, 12 gauge galvanized steel with raised perforated buttons and debossed holes protruding down. Galvanized steel floor planking above sump area for maximum corrosion resistance. Floor planking designed to sustain a minimum uniformly distributed load of 250 pounds per square foot. Floor planking and supports are removable to facilitate sump cleaning in the event of a spill.
Explosion Relief Panel
Used in the construction of buildings designed to store Class IA and Class IB flammables. Explosion relief panels limit the damage within an enclosed hazardous location. When the panel(s) are subjected to an explosive force, the pressure relieving panel quickly vents the force before it causes major damage. The panels are designed to release at 20 psf.
